FREE AGENCY RUMORS: Steelers Interested in Justin Houston

Is it true? Who knows. But word is being circulating around social media that the Pittsburgh Steelers are showing interest in Kansas City’s free agent outside linebacker, Justin Houston. Bringing a much needed veteran pass rusher should this deal go through.

The 6′ 3″..258lb Houston was a 3rd round pick for the Chiefs in 2011, and in his 8 years with the team has accumulated 381 tackles, 317 solo, 96 tackles for loss and 78.5 sacks. 22 of those sacks coming in 2014.

The Steelers, who have little-to-no salary cap space left, will need to make some moves on their own roster to free up cap space before signing anyone else. This could come in a variety of ways.

The team could give Ben Roethlisberger the extension everyone has been talking about for weeks now. They could also give Bud Dupree a new deal which would lower his $9 million salary cap hit in 2019.
