Week 11 Steelers @ Bye Week Pre-Blues and Things To Do
Of course..we all want it to continue. And as a former World League player speaking from a fan’s perspective, trust me..the players want to continue as well. But there is a much needed element known as downtime..chill factor..”heal mode”, and that is exactly what the 6-4 Pittsburgh Steelers need at this point and time. Because bye weeks don’t have to be what’s missing in our Steelers “Born & Bred” lifestyles, but what we still have. I am going to post “FIVE” things we can all do to occupy our gameless Sunday for week 11.
1) FANTASY FOOTBALL :
If you are not a part of a Fantasy Football league, you need to join one..if you know what you are doing. Fantasy football is a great way to take your focus off of the Steelers not playing, and actually gets you to learn more about the sport and its players which is vital as a true NFL fan.
2) CHEER AGAINST TEAMS YOU HATE:
Be honest with yourselves. When the Pittsburgh Steelers are playing and winning, our only focus is on the outcome of our games. But with a bye week, we get to focus on the outcome of teams we hate..like the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers and the much disliked New England Patriots. Really..no reason to mention the Cleveland Browns. Their fans have us covered.
3) PLAY MADDEN NFL:
Gentlemen, and ladies if you are not into this decades old form of “Bye Week Release”..you need to start “NOW”! My suggestion is from 2010 to today..either ones will do nicely, some better than most. Just pick the Steelers as your team, find someone who hates them and smash their Steelers Hating Asses like there is no tomorrow. Trust me, you will forget all about the bye.
4) WATCH OLD STEELERS GAMES:
Now, I could sit here and tell you which previous games to watch..but that would take forever. But if I had to choose one or two personally, it would be Super Bowl XLIII Steelers v. Cardinals or all of Ben Roethlisberger’s undefeated rookie season combined..to make it one long game. That will definitely take your mind off of no game being played.
And last..but not least..
5) SPEND FAMILY TIME:
Seriously, it’s on a Sunday. Do I really need to explain what else you could be doing to occupy your time? And notice, that I place the family of one..Hines Ward..because no matter the race, the Pittsburgh Steelers Family all bleed the same.
Long story short..do what you can to enjoy your bye week Steelers Nation/World. #HereWeGo
