Steelers Prove So-Called Experts Wrong..Again With 25-13 Win Over Cardinals
I posed a question in my previous “Preview and Prediction” article asking the so-called NFL experts..”Who have the Arizona Cardinals Beaten”..for them to believe they would beat the Pittsburgh Steelers. I received my answer this afternoon.. “No One”!
Landry Jones came in for an injured Mike Vick and threw two touchdown passes to Martavis Bryant. Giving the Steelers a 25-13 victory over the Cardinals in week 6. Something the “experts” thought could never happen. The same experts that believed the Steelers had no chance last Monday night versus the San Diego Chargers.
Vick left in the third quarter with a hamstring injury and Pittsburgh’s offense took off when Jones took over. Jones hit Bryant for an 8-yard score to give the Steelers the lead. The two hooked up later for an 88-yard strike as the Steelers (4-2) won their second straight.
Jones completed 8 of 12 passes for 168 yards and the two scores. Bryant caught six passes for 137 yards in his first action of the season. Le’Veon Bell ran for 88 yards and rookie Chris Boswell kicked three long field goals for the Steelers.
Carson Palmer threw for 421 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. John Brown caught 10 balls for 196 yards but the Cardinals collapsed in the second half. But as we all know, you can throw for 1,000 yards and have 500 receiving yards in a game..it means absolutely nothing if you can’t get in the end zone.
The Steelers defense did a great job preventing Palmer from doing that more than once (the one TD in the 1st quarter), picking off the Cardinals quarterback twice..one by linebacker Lawrence Timmons, the other by defensive back, Mike Mitchell. Mitchell’s coming at a pivotal moment in the 4th quarter, intercepting Palmer’s pass in the end zone.
The San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions, New Orleans Saints and Chicago Bears..all below. 500 teams is who the Pittsburgh Steelers are not. You so-called gurus in the professional sport of football are going to learn that..whether you like it or not. #HereWeGo #Steelers #StairwayToSeven
